My ancestor is Joseph Henry Dean. Joesph was born in England on October, 16 1855. He died November 2, 1947. His family left England when he was four years old. It took them 3 months to cross the plains by ox team and wagon to get to Salt Lake City, Utah. He had 2 wives, Sarah Arnold and Florence Ridges. Each wife had 11 children which made him a father of 22 children! Only 15 of those children made it to adulthood. Joseph went to jail for polygamy. He served 6 months in jail. Some of the most important things he did in his life were serving 3 missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is known for his great missionary work in Samoa. He was the first missionary in Samoa. He served two missions in Samoa and one mission on the Hawaiian Islands. He was a Carpenter for most of his life. He was a stone cutter for the Salt Lake City Temple and later served as the custodian for the Salt Lake City Temple. He worked along side Heber J. Grant and Joseph F. Smith. Joseph H. Dean also loved music. He is published in the LDS Hymn Book, #158 called Before Thee Lord, I Bow My Head. Joseph moved is family to Mancos, Colorado. That is where my Great Grandfather and my Grandpa are from.

This is another form of him for presentation
